3 Named HASTAC Scholars
The Composition and Cultural Rhetoric program is pleased to announce that Jason Markins, Jess Pauszek, and Jana Rosinski have been named HASTAC scholars for 2015-2016.
The HASTAC Scholars program draws its new cohort of scholars from over 75 universities, and dozens of disciplines in order to build a community of students working at the intersection of technology and the arts, humanities and sciences.
During the upcoming year, Jason will explore the intersections between new materialism, maker movements (historical and contemporary), and digital rhetoric, and how they shape multimodal pedagogies and conceptions of writing. Jess will continue developing her research on how digital archives can help re-animate and circulate working-class community literacies. Jana will experiment with sentiment analysis and language processing as ways of creating interfaces for affectively reading texts.
