This minor is designed to provide any student an opportunity for further practice and study of writing. The Writing Program requires 18 credits of coursework for the minor: 15 credits in upper-division writing courses (WRT prefix at the 300 and 400 level), and 3 credits from any course designated as Writing Intensive by the College of Arts & Sciences, or 3 credits from student electives. Writing Intensive courses and elective courses must be approved by the Minor Advisor.

Prerequisites: In order to declare this minor, students must have received credit for WRT 105 and WRT 205 (or WRT 109 and WRT 209, or ENG 211 and ENG 213, or equivalent). Students may begin the minor before completing WRT 205.

Applicable Students: The Minor in Writing is open to all undergraduates at Syracuse University.
