Lois Agnew Receives Meredith Teaching Recognition Award

The Writing Program would like to congratulate Lois Agnew , recipient of the Meredith Teaching Recognition Award for non-tenured faculty member. The Meredith Recognition Award provides the recipient an expense account of $3,000 for professional development for one year. Its specific goals are to recognize excellence in teaching and to encourage a culture of collegial mentoring among faculty members.

Lois was nominated for this award by Carol Lipson (Director) on behalf of the Writing Program: "Lois Agnew is an extraordinary teacher at all levels, from 100-level courses to those at the 700-level.  Undergraduate and graduate students are overwhelmingly positive about Lois as a teacher. They find her courses especially engaging, while offering true intellectual challenges well matched for each level. Students find her inspiring, intellectually stimulating, particularly helpful for their writing, and—not least—great fun."

The award will be presented during a ceremony on April 26.
